Games Development Officer Role

Clann na nGael GAA club wish to recruit for the position of Games Development Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of GAA Coaching & Games Development Policy within the Club, by implementing and delivering the Games Development Plan on an annual basis with the assistance of the Games Development Committee and the Club Executive Committee.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implement a regular programme of activities and games appropriate to the age and ability of the various playing groups at all levels.
  • Introduce coaching and skill development initiatives appropriate to the age and ability of the various playing groups.
  • Introduce and implement a variety of initiatives to support the development of a sustainable sports system by managing the identification, recruitment and upskilling of key personnel to effectively develop Gaelic Games within the club and community.

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Third level qualification in a sports related field.
  • Award 1 GAA Coaching Qualification.
  • At least 3 years’ experience of working within the GAA or similar sporting organisation in a voluntary and/or professional capacity.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • A good familiarity with social media functionality.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Practical experience of producing reports to a high standard.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines; hands-on approach to getting things done.
  • Ability to clearly present goals and direction.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong ability to work in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent administrative and IT Skills are required.
  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the GAA.
  • Full clean driver’s license
